Chapter Eighteen

“And that’s what happened,” I tell Jelina, finishing my meal.

“Bloody hell,” Jelina says in amazement.

She has been saying that through pretty well the entire meal, as Lina, Silvana, Johanne, and I told her the tale of the last couple of days. The meal was terrific. It was a simple beef stew with fresh bread and some excellent beer to go with it. Ian begged off to go to bed as soon as we walked into the house. We had told him he could stay for the meal, but he said he had a long day and winked at me as he left. I will need to thank him for giving me a night with my wives.

“Well,” Silvana says, sighing contentedly, “it’s getting late, and I need some sleep, so I am heading up. Goodnight you two,” she says, looking at Jelina and me. Jelina is sitting to my right, and has been pretty well touching my knee all night.

“Agreed. I need a quick shower before bed,” Johanne says.

“I’ll join you if that’s all right?” Lina says, covering a yawn.

“Of course,” Johanne says with a laugh, putting her hand out. Lina takes it and both of them head up the stairs after Silvana, leaving Jelina and me alone.

She gets up and begins to clear the dishes. “You go up and take a shower, Brandon. You need it,” she says with a grin.

Laughing, I say, “Yeah, I do smell, don’t I? Can I help you clear the dishes first?”

“No. You go ahead, I will be up soon.” She stops and looks directly at me. “That is if your promise still stands?”

Looking at the buxom blond, I can’t help but smile. God, how did I end up with so many beautiful wives? She is still waiting for my answer and starting to get anxious, I see. Ooops. I was staring too long.

“Of course, it still stands,” I tell her, getting up. I lean over and kiss her on the lips. “Come up when you can.”

That makes her smile, and she nods and goes back to clearing the table, shooing me towards the stairs.

With a smile still on my face, I head up the stairs to my room. Once I get there, I undress and head into the shower, making sure the water is nice and hot. When I think about what I am going to try tomorrow, I get a little nervous, but I know it needs to be done. If my idea can fuck up the Winter Court’s plans, I am on board with trying it. Because if we are right about what they are attempting, we need to find a way to stop them.

Suddenly I feel a hand on my back, and I turn around with a smile. Wiping water from my face, I look down and Jelina is in the walk-in shower with me, and she is as naked as I am. I open my arms and she walks into them, and I kiss her passionately.
